WildPackets Becomes Savvius, Inc.
Rebranding reflects focus on both network performance management and support for security forensics.
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., April 16, 2015 – WildPackets, Inc., a leading provider of network performance management solutions, announced today that it is changing its corporate name to Savvius, Inc., effective immediately.
The new name reflects the company’s success in expanding its line of network performance management products and a new commitment to using its expertise in network investigations to enhance security forensics. That commitment was demonstrated by today’s announcement of Savvius Vigil, the industry’s first security appliance that provides security professionals access to relevant network packet data weeks and months after an incident.
"This name change comes at a defining moment in our history," said Tim McCreery, CEO of Savvius. "We are deepening our commitment to network performance management solutions and expanding our focus to include support for security forensics. Our team is united in providing great solutions and world-class support to our customers and partners."
Savvius solutions enable network and security specialists to monitor, capture, analyze, and trouble-shoot networks, and to investigate security issues at a packet level weeks, months, even years after they occur.
"With Omnipliance hardware for high-performance monitoring and capture, including 802.11ac WLANs, OmniPeek software for investigations and troubleshooting, and now Savvius Vigil for security forensics, it was time for a name that represents our full line of solutions," said Larry Zulch, president of Savvius. "Savvius’ focus is entirely on empowering network and security professionals with the best products, capabilities, and solutions on the market."
