As a Wireless Network Engineer, you would be responsible for performing the engineering, configuration, installation, debug, support, and upgrade of wireless components and infrastructure; including, access points, routers, switches, remote access systems, and network management systems for a multi-­national client at sites across North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide wireless network engineering services such as Assessments, Active and passive Site Surveys, RF design, and implementation of secure wireless networking environments in both new and existing networks.
  • Provide detailed GAP Analysis reports and specifications to client, including professional opinions and recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wired and wireless issues in existing networks.
  • Provide technical support to various departments and users with regards to wireless infrastructure.
  • Participate in and perform capacity planning and network monitoring as required.
  • Evaluate and recommend new products and services.
  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion, meeting schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Organize travel arrangements to remote locations, keeping costs to the company at a minimum.
  • Expense report completions accurate, and in a timely manner
  • Continually keeping abreast of the ever changing wireless industry for 802.11 technologies.
  • Obtaining industry or OEM specializations or certifications where needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering (or related area).
  • 5-10 years of experience in maintaining and supporting enterprise-level networking environments.
  • Understand advanced wireless network infrastructure environments.
  • Proficiency with 802.11 protocols, RF principles, WLAN and client operation, common use cases.
  • Excellent ability and extensive experience in troubleshooting wireless networks.
  • Proficiency in configuration/installation of complex wireless networks, applications and systems.
  • Well-versed in Linux and Windows OS. and MS Office desktop productivity applications
  • Strong knowledge of RF propagation principles; vendor/technology capabilities and limitations.
  • Ability to work in delicate customer situations and ability to interact with all levels of corporate management
  • Understanding of a retail environment with remote distribution centers and stores world-wide
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • CWNA certification.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, Cisco ISE.
  • Certifications from Cisco and/or Aruba are highly desired.
  • Bi-lingual skills (English, Spanish) highly desired.

  • Build Savvius enterprise customer base in the Western U.S. region, primarily through growth in existing accounts and new customer acquisition
